School Enrollment in Wake county for 23-24

Hello Friends,
We are moving to Friendship NC early this Summer and was trying to understand process of enrolling kids into schools so that we could decide on where to rent a place. Can anyone elaborate how this works since I am a bit confused with terms like base school ,year round school,over flow schools etc. I did go through wake district website but felt I didn't get complete picture . Your feedback is greatly appreciated!!
